Change of Conductors

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

It is with much sadness that we advise that Amy has decided to resign from the Youth Band conductor’s role so that she can focus on her commitment to her teaching and reduce her extra-curricular commitments. We are very grateful for all that Amy has done with the Youth Band and wish her well with her future. Amy will remain a part of the GCB by continuing to perform with our Senior Band.

Kate Zampatti has been appointed to the position of Youth Band Music Director. Kate will be well known to the Youth band members having filled in occasionally for Amy over the past two years and is well known to the old Workshop Band members.

Moving Kate to the Youth Band left a vacant position in the Workshop Band and we are pleased to advise that we have appointed Melanie Humphrey to this position. Mel currently teaches at Kardinia International College and will be very well suited to the Workshop Band music director’s position.

We say thank-you to Amy for all of her years of input into the Youth Band and welcome Kate and Mel to the Youth and Workshop Band music director roles respectively.
